In the Mayan tradition, worry or trouble dolls initially served as a source of comfort for children encountering difficulties sleeping or having frequent nightmares. Before bedtime, children would whisper their fears and worries to their tiny dolls, give them a kiss, and place them under their pillow. The next morning, the worries were gone, and the child woke up refreshed.
